Rating: Standard, decent Traditional Roman coffee
The Bar Glorioso is a small, nice place situated a block away from the Viale Trastevere, and behind the Ministry of Instruction, thus it gets lots of traffic from some very nicely dressed bureaucrats. It’s worth stopping by just for this.

Rating: Poor, exceptionally horrible coffee
The Theatre Café is close to the heart of all of Rome’s most interesting ancient attractions, and sees tons of traffic from people wanting to rest and enjoy the Roman afternoon and evening. Its interior resembles more an Irish pub than anything else, but its locale is cool and in a prime spot. Lots of car traffic in the front, but that’s downtown for you.

Rating: Standard, good quality Roman style cafe
Bud Cafe 8 is located literally just around the corner from Castroni cafe. This might reflect stupid business sense on the owner’s part, or it might show that there’s room and demand for better coffee than what Castroni’s putting up. I think it’s definitely a case of the latter! The bar has a California, surfer-ish style about it, with the Q ball logo trying to say something of what you’ll find inside…
